Aztec God Myhtology

The Aztec civilization recognized a mythology polytheistic, which contained many gods (100) and supernatural creatures of their religious beliefs.

History

Aztec mythology in general is combined with the cultural complex known as the Nahua because of the common language of their situation. According to legend, the different groups who should be the Aztecs came from northern valley Anahuac around Lake Texcoco. The location of this valley and lake destination is clear - it is the heart of modern Mexico City - but little can be known with certainty about the origin of the Aztec.

There are different accounts of their origin. In the myth ancestors of Mexica / Aztec came from a place in the north called Aztlan, the last seven nahuatlacas (nahuatl speaking just tlaca, "man") to make the journey south, hence the name "Azteca". Other accounts mention their origin in Chicomostoc, "instead of the seven caves," or Tamoanchan (the legendary origin of all civilizations).

The Mexica / Aztec said to be guided by their god Huitzilopochtli, which means "left-handed Hummingbird" or "Hummingbird south." When they arrived at an island in the lake, they saw an eagle that was perched on a fully nopal cactus fruit (nochtli). (Due to a poor translation of an account by Tesozomoc it was popular to say the eagle devouring a snake, but in the accounts of Aztec origin, the snake is not mentioned. He said he was eating a bird, another show that only perched on the cactus, and only one third said it was eating something.) This vision is fulfilled the prophecy said they must find their new home in this place. The Aztecs built their city of Tenochtitlan on this site, the construction of a large artificial island, which is now in the middle of Mexico City. This legendary vision is represented on the coat of arms in Mexico.

According to legend, when the Mexicas arrived in the Valley of Anahuac around Lake Texcoco, they were treated like other groups like the least civilized of all, but Mexica / Aztec decided to learn, and they took everything that they could other people, especially the old Toltec (which they seem to have partially confused with the oldest civilization of Teotihuacan). For the Aztecs, Toltecs is the author of any culture; Toltecayotl "is a synonym for culture. Legends Aztec identify Toltec and the cult of Quetzalcoatl Tollan with the legendary city, they have also identified the oldest of Teotihuacan.

Because the Aztecs and adopted several combined with the traditions of their own traditions, they have several creation myths, one of them described the four major ages before today's world, each of which ended in a disaster. Our age - Nahui Ollin, the fifth age, or fifth creation - escaped destruction because of the victim of a God (Nanahuatl, "full of wounds," the smallest and most humble of gods), which has been transformed into sun. This myth is associated with the ancient city of Teotihuacan, which is already abandoned and destroyed, when the Aztecs arrived. Another myth describes the earth as a creation of both gods and Tezcatlipoca Quetzalcoatl. Tezcatlipoca lost his foot in the process of creating the world and all representations of these gods show him without one foot and with a bone exposed. Quetzalcoatl is also known as "White Tezcatlipoca."

Aztecs has many gods and goddesses. There is a God in almost every purpose, and all aspects of life, the Aztecs culture. Religion is a very important part of civilization, which is integrated into their daily practices, beliefs, rituals, and clothing. Many sources list more than 100 different gods, or goddesses, while others list of dozens of people.

Aztecs God - the role of God
Aztecs rulers is that they were thinking of God and is considered the right to information and schedules, from the Aztecs of God. In these people over the three main gods were Huitzilopochtli, tlaloc, tezcatlipoca. Huitzilopochtli, as well as with others, can only appease carried by the blood of the victims of human rights. He is the great temple atop the pyramid tenochtitlán.

Victims (many people trapped in the fight) was beheaded and his head, the trophy, this is the so-called big rack or wall. Another idea is to sacrifice is a great honour and on a voluntary basis. It is believed that more than 20,000 is ritualistically killed and four days of celebrations in the Temple completed.

Aztecs God - Comparison
Unlike God, Judaism and Christianity, this is God's love, grace and redemption, many of the Aztecs some cruel god of violence and war. In addition, on the contrary, the Aztecs of God, the Christian God created everything, and that it is necessary first, not only to sacrifice.

As everyone is a sin (original sin, the Garden of Eden), God has come to the country's human form, his son Jesus Christ. He uhrijärjestelmä lamb, atoning for SINS to human as a whole. And his sacrifice, all of us this gift, if we penseitä dark pagan way, we can get the commitment to spending eternity with the only God, who controls all things, and that Aztecs thought that their God Is not. Here, need to look at some Bible scriptures that address some of the Aztecs and the Christian faith counterpoints.
